EMBRACE
VARIOUS ARTISTS
While an exile learns to live with separation, fragmentation and ambiguity, they often long to break from it. Agustin Rolando Rojas, Elena Garcia Wagner, and Jesus Rivera, three Cuban born artists now living in the US, explore this idea as well as their own unique Cuban-American experiences in a new group exhibition, Embrace. Though each artist tells their story in their own way, their paintings all share the emotion and confusion that comes when trying to negotiate and unite two different cultures. Through large-format, emblematic scenes and intimate abstracts, Embrace aims to transcend cultural differences and expose the threads of commonality present within all human experience.
